Think Green - Cell phone charging with WIFI energy

Date January 11, 2010 | Print | Bookmark | Share | Email

This is among the coolest inventions I know - a device that harvests the WIFI energy to charge a cell phone, an Ipod or similar devices. You can imagine that everybody wants it from AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, to people like you and me. Who does not want his or her cell phone charging wirelessly while having lunch at McDonald, etc.? Think Green!

Almost everywhere has WIFI. Enjoy the video. Paul is the inventor. He is the greatest inventor that I have ever known personally. Way to go Paul and thank you. I have been using quite a few of his inventions in my house. I met him over 20 years ago while visiting Starkville Mississippi where he was studying to be an electrical engineer at MSU.

This invention reminds me of the work done by Tesla in 1891 trying to wirelessly transmit electrical energy. A "world system" for "the transmission of electrical energy without wires" that depends upon the electrical conductivity of the earth was proposed in which transmission in various natural media with current that passes between the two points are used to power devices. In a practical wireless energy transmission system using this principle, a high-power ultraviolet beam might be used to form a vertical ionized channel in the air directly above the transmitter-receiver stations.
