"Come Cook With Me" - is Dr. Betty Ruth Speir's latest creation. I have not seen Betty just for a short time and she came out with a fantastic cook book. I know Betty for over 15 years. Most cook books that I know appear to be technical. Some are so technical that they intimidate the readers before they even start to cook. But Betty's book is different. You can feel her cook book. You can even enjoy some of the poems that were inspired during her cooking.

Any way, I will have a chance to interview her soon. Enjoy the photos. You can learn about her at her website: http://www.gyne.com. Don't forget to order a book.

This is a short bio about Betty Ruth:

Betty Ruth Speir, a gynecologist by training, has traded her scalpels for paring knives. She enjoys cooking and entertaining. Now that she has time, she has substituted cooking classes for medical classes. Recipes and poetry, instead of medical writing, keep her busy. She designs and sews and recently had gowns featured in a show at the Eastern Shore Art Center.

She just came back from attending the swering-in of the Surgeon General Regina Benjamin, Jan. 11, in Washington. I can't wait to get a few of the photos of this great party to show here. By the way, Surgeon General Regina Benjamin was born and raised here in Daphne, Al. and after her residency she came back and built Bayou La Batre Rural Health Clinic.
